REFRACTORY
Refractory bricks, castables and specialty ceramics — engineered under extreme heat and pressure. We supply the hydraulic and heating technology behind the process.
ENGINEERING BEHIND THE REFRACTORY PROCESS
Refractory manufacturing involves the forming, drying and firing of high-temperature ceramic materials — shaped bricks, precast shapes, monolithic castables and specialty refractories. The production process itself demands high-pressure pressing (hydraulic), elevated temperature drying and firing (electric or gas), and material handling under dusty, abrasive conditions.
Kanthal SiC and MoSi₂ heating elements are widely used in refractory tunnel kilns and shuttle kilns for controlled firing. Hydraulic presses using Parker components produce the high forming pressures required for dense refractory shapes. U3S Engitech has supplied both the hydraulic and heating-element side of refractory producers.
WHAT WE PROVIDE
