FORTY YEARS INSIDE STEEL PLANTS

From the first SAIL Rourkela contract in the late 1980s to the engineered HPUs running at Tata Steel Kalinganagar today, the steel sector has been our largest installed base. We know what a 24/7 duty cycle does to seals, what airborne mill scale does to a return-line filter, and what an unscheduled stop costs per hour.

Our applications team designs to the duty — not to the catalogue. Every steel plant HPU we ship has been sized against actual cycle data, peak power demand, ambient temperature and contamination risk. The result is a system that runs the planned interval, not one that needs nursing.

STEEL PLANT DESIGN STANDARDS

  • ISO 4406 cleanliness Class 17/15/12 or better, maintained continuously
  • Cycle duty > 100,000 cycles per annum, designed-in
  • Ambient operating range −5°C to +50°C with full power
  • Redundant pumping on critical drives, hot-swappable filtration
  • Condition monitoring instrumentation as standard, not optional
  • Full SKF bearing alignment and lubrication on rotating equipment

BLAST FURNACE AUXILIARIES

Tap-hole drilling and mud-gun hydraulics, slag granulation systems, charging equipment, gas cleaning plant. High-temperature, high-pressure, low-tolerance applications.

STEEL MELTING SHOP

EAF tilting, ladle furnace lifting, slag-door manipulator hydraulics, ladle turret drives. Cyclic high-load duty in extreme thermal environment.

CONTINUOUS CASTING

Mould oscillation hydraulics, segment clamping, withdrawal drives, ladle turret rotation. Precision systems where downtime cascades through the whole melt shop.

HOT & COLD ROLLING MILLS

Mill stand hydraulics, AGC (automatic gauge control) servo systems, work-roll bending, coilers, side-trimmers, levellers. Servo-grade cleanliness and response.

MATERIAL HANDLING

Slab and bloom transfer, scarfing units, billet pushers, hot-charge transfer cars, cooling bed hydraulics. Heavy-duty, high-cycle, abrasive environment.

FINISHING & FORMING

Pickling lines, coating plants, pipe and tube mills, forging presses, hydraulic shears. Engineered hydraulic groups built to plant specification.
