Design & Engineering

Hydraulic system design, P&ID development, sizing calculations, and applications engineering — backed by Parker Hannifin's HTC technical resources and four decades of field installation experience.

Where We Start

From Specification to Schematic

A hydraulic system that fails on site usually failed at the design stage. U3S Engitech designs every system around the actual duty cycle — the cylinder loads it must lift, the cycles per hour it must complete, the contamination class the fluid must hold, the ambient temperature it must reject.

Our engineering team works directly with your maintenance and projects engineers to translate process requirements into a buildable, maintainable, documented hydraulic system. We don't oversize for safety margins we can't justify, and we don't undersize to win on price. Each design is reviewed against Parker Hannifin's application engineering guidelines before it goes into manufacturing.

Design Deliverables

  • System P&ID with valve and instrument tag list
  • HPU general arrangement drawing
  • Cylinder data sheets with end-connection details
  • Component bill of materials with Parker / approved makes
  • Pressure / flow / power calculations
  • Heat load and cooler sizing report
  • Reservoir sizing per JIC / NFPA practice
  • Operations and maintenance manual outline
What We Engineer

Engineering Domains

Power Pack Design

Pump selection (gear / vane / piston), motor sizing, reservoir capacity, accumulator volume, filtration class, control architecture (DOL, star-delta, VFD).

Manifold & Valve Stand Design

Custom valve manifold blocks designed to integrate directional, pressure, and flow control valves into a single machined block — reducing leak points and simplifying installation.

Cylinder Engineering

Bore and rod sizing for required force and column strength, mounting style selection, cushion design, seal package selection for fluid and temperature.

Control System Architecture

Electrical schematic development, PLC I/O list, HMI screen specification, safety circuit design (Cat 3 / PL d where required), interlock logic.

Piping & Tubing Design

Pipe sizing for velocity limits, pressure drop calculation, support spacing, hose vs tube selection, pulsation dampener placement.

Brown-Field Retrofit Studies

Survey of existing systems, gap analysis against current standards, retrofit design for upgrading legacy hydraulics to modern proportional or servo control.

Our Approach

Engineering Process

Six structured phases from enquiry to issued-for-construction package.

01

Requirements Capture

Site visit or detailed call to understand duty cycle, environment, controls, and integration interfaces.

02

Concept Design

Schematic options with trade-off discussion — pump type, control method, redundancy approach.

03

Detailed Calculations

Force, flow, pressure, heat, and electrical load calculations with documented assumptions.

04

Component Selection

BOM with Parker primary and approved-make alternates, full part numbers, lead times.

05

Drawing Release

Issued-for-construction drawing pack — schematic, GA, P&ID, electrical, control narrative.

06

Design Review

Joint review with customer engineering, sign-off, and freeze for manufacturing release.
