KANTHAL

A Sandvik Group brand. The world's leading specialist in industrial heating elements and FeCrAl resistance alloys. Heating technology engineered for furnaces and processes from ambient to 2,000°C.

ABOUT KANTHAL

Kanthal was founded in 1931 in Hallstahammar, Sweden by Hans von Kantzow. The company invented the FeCrAl (iron-chromium-aluminium) resistance alloy that bears its name — Kanthal — and went on to become the global benchmark for industrial heating element technology. Today Kanthal is part of the Sandvik Group, the Swedish global engineering corporation.

Kanthal's portfolio covers metallic and ceramic heating elements, sheath thermocouples, complete electric furnaces and modular heating systems. The product range serves the steel, aluminium, ceramics, glass, chemical, heat treatment, semiconductor and laboratory industries — wherever a process requires controlled, repeatable, sustained high-temperature heating.

KANTHAL TECHNOLOGY WE REPRESENT

FeCrAl ALLOY ELEMENTS

Kanthal A-1, Kanthal AF, Kanthal D and other grades. Element wire and ribbon for furnace temperatures up to 1,400°C. The original, and still the benchmark.

NiCr ALLOY ELEMENTS

Nikrothal range — nickel-chromium resistance alloys for moderate-temperature applications. Lower watt density, higher ductility than FeCrAl.

MoSi₂ HEATING ELEMENTS

Kanthal Super (molybdenum disilicide) elements — for furnace temperatures from 1,400°C up to 1,850°C. The technology of choice for high-temperature ceramic, glass and lab applications.

SiC HEATING ELEMENTS

Kanthal Globar silicon carbide elements — robust, high-watt-density heating for industrial furnaces from 1,200°C to 1,600°C. Steel, aluminium, ceramic processing.

CERAMIC FIBRE MODULES

Vacuum-formed and Z-Block ceramic fibre modules for furnace lining and heat conservation. Engineered insulation matched to the heating element specification.

COMPLETE ELECTRIC FURNACES

Modular electric furnace systems and heating modules — pre-engineered for specific industrial heating duties. Steel reheat, ladle preheat, aluminium melt, heat treatment.
