Diagnostics & Troubleshooting

Calibrated instruments, structured methodology, written conclusions. We resolve hydraulic and rotating equipment issues with measurement, not guesswork.

The Method

Measure First. Conclude Second.

Hydraulic and rotating equipment problems are commonly attributed to the most recently replaced component. That is rarely correct. A symptom — pressure spike, slow cylinder, hot motor, noisy pump — usually has multiple plausible causes. Identifying the right one needs measurement.

Our diagnostics service mobilises calibrated instruments to your site, captures actual circuit behaviour under operating conditions, and returns a written report identifying the root cause and recommended corrective actions. We do not propose component replacements without measurement evidence to support them.

Symptoms We Investigate

  • Cylinder drift, slow stroke, or stalling under load
  • Pump cavitation, noise, or unusual vibration
  • Pressure instability, pressure loss, or relief valve chatter
  • Hydraulic fluid overheating or rapid degradation
  • Repeated seal failures or hose bursts
  • Bearing temperature rise, vibration, or noise
  • Motor overload, frequent trips, or insulation issues
  • Filter blockage faster than expected service interval
Tools of the Trade

Diagnostic Instruments We Bring

Parker Hydraulic Datalogger

Multi-channel pressure, flow, and temperature recording across the hydraulic circuit, time-synchronised, downloadable for analysis.

Parker Oil Analysis Kit

On-site fluid contamination classification per ISO 4406 — particle counting and water content checks before and after intervention.

SKF Microlog Vibration Analyser

FFT spectral analysis for bearing defects, misalignment, imbalance, looseness, and gearmesh signatures.

FLUKE Thermal Imager

Hotspot identification on motors, panels, hoses, bearings, and electrical terminations — quantified with emissivity-corrected temperatures.

SDT 340 Ultrasound Detector

Ultra-early bearing defect detection, valve leak detection, steam trap inspection, compressed air leak location.

SKF Laser Alignment Kit

Precision shaft alignment to ±0.001 mm — eliminates misalignment as a root cause for vibration and bearing wear.

ELCOMETER Thickness Gauge

Ultrasonic wall thickness measurement for piping, pressure vessels, and reservoirs — corrosion mapping.

Industrial Borescope

Internal visual inspection of cylinders, reservoirs, valve manifolds, and other inaccessible areas without disassembly.

Engagement Process

How a Diagnostic Visit Runs

01

Telephone Brief

Initial discussion of symptom, equipment context, and recent maintenance history.

02

Site Mobilisation

Engineer mobilised with instruments matched to the symptom — usually within 24-48 hours.

03

Measurement Campaign

Datalogging during normal and abnormal operation. Fluid sample collection. Vibration and thermal scans of suspect components.

04

Data Analysis

On-site or returned to Cuttack lab depending on scope. Spectral analysis, oil analysis, datalogger review.

05

Findings Report

Written report — root cause, supporting measurements, recommended corrective actions, recommended preventive measures.

06

Remediation

Optional — execute the recommended corrective work, re-measure, confirm closure.
